Hampshire teen sailor found dead

A young sailor who recently represented Great Britain in a youth world championships has been found dead in a Hampshire woodland.

The body of Jessica Eales, 17, was discovered in Sway in the New Forest, Hampshire, last Thursday.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file was being prepared for the coroner, a Hampshire Police spokeswoman said.

Jessica, from Lymington, recently represented Great Britain at the Isaf Youth Sailing World Championships in Tavira, Portugal, where she finished 11th.

Royal Yachting Association racing manager Mark Nicholls said: "She was a young sailor who showed promising talent which can now unfortunately never be fulfilled. Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this sad and difficult time."
