US drive by killer lived in Sussex as a child
The man suspected of killing six people in California lived in Sussex for the first five years of his life. Elliot Rodger, 22, a student of Santa Barbara City College, lived in the Isla Vista area and was the son of a Hollywood director. He was born in London before moving to the United States.
According to a so-called online manifesto, Rodger said he was born in London and spent the first five years of his life in Sussex. He wrote: 'This was a time of discovery, excitement, and fun. I had just entered this new world, and I knew nothing of the pain it would bring me later on.'
Police said Elliot Rodger had stabbed three male room-mates to death at his apartment. He later went on a rampage through Isla Vista in a black BMW, shooting at people at random. After exchanging gunfire with police, Rodger was found dead inside his crashed vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.
