Paedophile jailed for 33 years after more than 80 offences

A delivery driver from Kent has been jailed for more than thirty years for a string of attacks on children and teenagers.

Darren Jeffries from Sittingbourne committed more than 80 offences in total: His youngest victim was just two years old. John Ryall was at Guildford Crown Court. He also spoke to one of Jeffries' victims, whose comments have been re-voiced to protect her anonymity.

A paedophile who committed more than 80 offences has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison. Darren Jefferies, a 48-year-old delivery driver, used dating websites to groom young girls across several counties in the south.

A prolific predatory paedophile has today been sentenced to 33 years imprisonment following two trials at Guildford Crown Court. He must serve at least 22 years before becoming eligible for parole.

Darren Jeffries, a delivery driver of Roonagh Court, Sittingbourne, Kent, was found guilty last month of multiple serious sexual offences and abduction against two girls under 17.

Those offences were committed in Kent.

The 48 year old was also found guilty of multiple offences of rape and gross indecency against a girl between the ages of five and 17 at a previous trial heard at the same court in October 2013.

In total, Jeffries committed more than 80 offences against nine victims aged between two and 17 across several counties over 13 years.

The extent of his offending emerged after Surrey Police was alerted in February 2013 to his meeting and grooming a 14 year old girl in Surrey Heath.
