Fire crews to return for checks
Firefighters will return to the Ashdown Forest in Sussex later this morning to make checks following a heath fire that covered 20 hectares. At its height, nearly 50 firefighters were tackling the blaze, which started just before 2pm on 5th June 2013.

UPDATE: 80 firefighters tackling Ashdown Forest fire
Sixteen fire crews comprising of about 80 firefighters are now on the scene of a fire in the Ashdown Forest in Sussex. The police helicopter is being used to direct crews on the ground.
