Five people have so far been charged with offences in connection with the March for England event in Brighton yesterday.

Dominic Langford, 19, unemployed, of Rhiw'r Ddar, Taffs Wells, Cardiff, and Ben Lindsay, 22, a student, of Milton Road, Southampton, have been charged with using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of/provoke unlawful violence.

Both were bailed to Brighton Magistrates' Court on May 2.

Mark McCourt, 44, unemployed, of Park Road, Crowborough, has been charged with affray and assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty. He has been bailed to appear on May 9.

Samuel Potter, 23, occupation and address not given, has been charged with wilfully obstructing a highway with a non motor vehicle.

Steven Sands, 45, self-employed, of Tisbury Road, Hove, has been charged with affray. All three have been bailed to appear on May 9.

  • A 25-year-old man from Brighton arrested suspicion of S5 POA

  • A 44-year-old man from Crowborough arrested suspicion of affray and assaulting a police officer

  • A 45-year-old man from Hove arrested suspicion of affray.

  • A 25-year-old man, no address given, arrested suspicion of ABH.

  • A 22-year-old man, no address give, arrested suspicion of ABH and affray.

One man remains in custody arrested on suspicion of obstructing the highway.
