Meridian travel on Thursday

Road users are advised that the southbound A3 is closed near Esher, Surrey, following a serious accident and is likely to remain closed for some time. The incident this morning is currently being investigated by Surrey Police and as a result the road is closed between the A309 and the A244.

The Highways Agency is working to reopen the carriageway as soon as possible - however the closure may last into this evening’s peak period. Road users may consider using the A309, A307 and A244.

A34 Southbound blocked, very slow traffic due to accident, a car and a van involved between M40 J9 and B430 (Weston-On-The-Green), congestion on A41 to B4030 Oxford Road (Bicester Little Chef Roundabout).

A272 Lewes Road closed due to accident between Church Road (Scayne's Hill) and B2183 Beggar's Wood Road (North Chailey).

One lane closed due to broken down lorry on A34 Northbound between A4185 (Chilton Interchange) and A4130 (Milton Interchange) at Chilton. Lane one is closed. The lorry needs a tyre changing. Traffic is coping well on our sensors so far.

Wharf Road closed in both directions after an accident involving two vehicles between Lake Road and B3411 Frimley Green Road in Frimley.

The A27 Eastbound exit slip road closed at Southwick in East Sussex after an accident at A293. A car has left the road and gone down the embankment.
