Fastest man prepares for new record

Andy Green is already the fastest man on earth, having driven a jet-powered car at well over 700mph. And today he was in Sussex, preparing for his next world record attempt.

The RAF fighter pilot is aiming to travel at more than 1000mph in a new car called Bloodhound SSC.

And vital parts of the extraordinary machine are being made by a firm in Bognor Regis, as Malcolm Shaw now reports.

The carbon fibre cockpit of the 1,000 mph Bloodhound supersonic Car is being built in Bognor Regis.

The driver, Andy Green, the worlds fastest man (763 mph) will be visiting the factory today to lay some of the final bits of carbon fibre.
