Running for Sandeep: Widow bears Olympic Torch

So many of the Torchbearers in our region have led extraordinary lives - often showing amazing courage, to fight adversity themselves or to help others. In Winchester, though, Selina Sawhney wasn't running for herself - but for her late husband.

Sandeep was a much loved doctor - who'd been chosen to carry the torch after it appeared he'd won his battle against cancer. Sadly he passed away, so Selina did the honours instead. This report from Andrew Pate.

Torches which were carried through Basingstoke 64 years apart were reunited today. The 1948 torch which was held by Bill Plester in 1948 through the streets of Basingstoke, was brought to the Hampshire town today to be held by 2012 torchbearer and 100m runner Oliver Leonard.
