Hundreds of people were evacuated from a shopping centre in Hampshire this morning because of a fire.

The blaze at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth broke out in the roof space of a Chinese restaurant. The centre has since re-opened.

“Firefighters were quick to identify the risks posed by this incident and set up an exclusion zone whilst the fire was dealt with within the property. Fire crews from Southsea, Cosham, Havant and Wickham, along with the Command Unit, Aerial Ladder Platform, Multi Role Vehicle and Special Equipment Unit, were mobilised to the incident."

A Chinese restaurant is on fire in Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. The blaze is in the roof space of the "Water Margin" restaurant. 5 fire engines are there and Gunwharf Quays has been evacuated.
