Huge areas of woodland in Sussex have been devastated by fire. At its height more than 70 firefighters battled the flames. Crews are still investigating the cause of the blaze in Ashdown Forest.

Investigations into forest fire
Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire which swept through the Ashdown Forest in Sussex on Sunday afternoon. East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene at around 1.45pm. Around 70 firefighters brought the blaze under control with some remaining at the scene overnight.
