'Drive to conditions' plea after car aquaplanes off A3 and flips over

Traffic Police are urging drivers to adapt to the conditions after a series of accidents in bad weather.

Posting on X, Hampshire Roads Policing Unit said one driver 'should buy a lottery ticket' after walking away after his car flipped over on the A3 near Bramshott.

Heavy rain continues across the south, making driving conditions more treacherous.

A serious crash earlier closed the A303 near Andover in both directions.

A vehicle is believed to have overturned in bad weather.

The road is now open but significant delays remain following the build-up of traffic.

Surface water remains a problem along the major route, with one viewer posting a picture of severe flooding on the eastbound carriageway near Mere in Wiltshire.
