False teeth, golf clubs and a banjo are just some of items that were left behind on Wightlink's ferries in 2024.

A total of four million people cross the Solent every year with Wightlink and last year 2,447 items ended up in the lost property store after being left on ships and at ports.

Items that are most frequently left behind are spectacles and sunglasses.

Bank cards, mobile phones, purses, wallets and items of clothing like hats, jackets and gloves are often abandoned on seats, tables and counters.

All lost property is kept for a month and then it is recycled or destroyed.
