More than 1000 homes without water in Rochester due to burst water main
Around 1,100 homes in Kent have been left without water because of a burst water main.
Southern Water has confirmed households in Rochester are affected and are being given bottled water.
A spokesperson for the company said: "Up to 1,100 homes in Rochester are impacted by a burst water main we’re working to locate.
"All customers are receiving bottled water (via deliveries)
"We hope to find the burst and fix it within the next 24 hours but it does depend on locating the burst."
A spokesperson for Southern Water, said: “We're very sorry to customers who are experiencing low pressure or no supply in Rochester, Kent.
"We understand how disruptive this is and we are delivering bottled water to every household impacted.
“We believe the outage is due to a burst water main, and our teams are working around the clock to find and repair the leak including using acoustic loggers and other advanced detection techniques.
“We will continue bottled water deliveries until the burst is repaired. If anyone impacted has not received bottled water, we would urge them to get in touch with us by calling 0330 303 0368."
The burst water main comes less than a week since thousands of homes were left without water in Hampshire due to a Southern Water fault.
