Woman arrested for drug-driving after 15-year-old hit by car in Andover

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a 15-year old boy was hit by a car in Andover.

The incident, involving a silver Ford Fiesta, happened near ATS Tyres on New Street at around 6pm on Saturday December 21st.

The boy, a pedestrian, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries, where he remains at this time.

The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year old woman from Andover, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs. She has been released under investigation.

The road was closed while investigations were carried out but has since reopened.

Officers are appealing for any information, CCTV or dashcam footage which might help their inquiries.
