Teenager dragged into car and sexually assaulted in 'alarming incident' in Surrey village
A police probe has been launched after a teenage girl was dragged into a car in Ash in Surrey and sexually assaulted in an 'a rare and alarming incident.'
The incident took place at around 4pm on Tuesday (3 October) in Britten Close.
Officers say the victim was able to escape and reported the attack to police.
A 47-year-old man from Dudley has been arrested in connection with the incident, and remains in custody.
While carrying out house to house in the local area, officers received a further report from a member of the public, that at a similar time a woman was approached on Ash Church Road by a man in a vehicle who asked her to get into his car.
Officers are now looking to identify the woman involved.
Guildford Borough Commander Blaine Rafferty said: “This is an alarming and rare incident and I would like to reassure the community that there are a number of officers working on the investigation.
"You will see officers in the area today as they continue to carry out enquiries and I’d encourage you to speak with them if you have any concerns.”
