Murder probe continues in Dorchester after man in 60s dies after alleged assault
Three people arrested following the death of a man in Dorset have been released on bail.
The man, in his 60s, died from head injuries, sustained during an incident three weeks ago.
Dorset Police was called at 9.05pm on Saturday, March 18, to reports of an assault at an address in Milford Road, Dorchester.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, but died on the morning of Saturday, April 8.
An investigation is now underway led by detectives from the Force’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT).
Two men, aged 18 and 20, arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiring to pervert the course of justice have been released on police bail.
A 44-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice and assisting an offender, has also been released on police bail.
The victim and arrested individuals were known to each other.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Huxter, of MCIT, said: "The man's family have been informed of this latest development and our thoughts continue to be with them all.
"Our enquiries into his death remain ongoing.
"We understand this incident will be of concern to the community and officers from the neighbourhood policing team can be approached to discuss any specific issues."
