The school of a 12-year-old boy who was tragically killed after being hit by a car has pledged to support any pupils affected by his death.

Tyler Wills was a year seven pupil at Ifield Community College (ICC) in Crawley.

At around 2.40pm on Friday (November 25), Tyler was hit by a car on Crawley Avenue and later died in hospital.

Dozens of bouquets of flowers have been left at the scene paying tribute to the popular boy and now ICC has shared its own tribute.

In a tribute posted on their Facebook page, ICC said: "It is with great sadness that we must share the news that a Year 7 student, Tyler Wills, was involved in a road traffic accident on Friday.

"Sadly, his injuries proved fatal.

"Our thoughts are with the student's family at this sad time.

"We will help and support those students affected by this tragic situation.

"To allow us to support students tomorrow, there is a change to the start of the school day as follows: Tuesday, 8.30am Year 7 in school & Year 11 to English exam if they feel able to 9.30am start for all other year groups, students are to go to their mentor groups.

"We will do all we can offer support and help. It will be a very difficult time and it is important that we all support each other."

Alongside the family tribute and the tributes left at the scene, a GoFundMe page has also been set up.

The purpose of the page is to raise money to cover the cost of the funeral and a headstone and, despite only starting on Saturday, the total raised has already passed the target of £10,000, now exceeding £14,000.

In the fundraiser, Tyler is described as "one of the sweetest boys" who "never had a bad bone in his body."

The friend who set up the fundraiser said he hopes to give Tyler the "best send off and one he deserves."
