Man rescued after reportedly falling down cliff in Dorset

A man has been rescued after emergency services received a call to say someone had fallen while rock climbing in Portland.

The coastguard and Air Ambulance were called to the incident earlier today ( 3rd June).

At least 8 crew members were involved in the rescue in which they had to carry the patient back up part of the cliff on a stretcher.

The patient was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.
