Body found in search for Oxford college worker
The body of a man, found in a stream in Oxford, has been formally identified as Derek Brant from Kidlington, who'd been missing for four months.
The 63 year old, a maintenance man at St Anne's College, was last seen on July 24th near Summertown.
Thames Valley Police were called by a member of the public on 30 November to reports of a man’s body being seen in a stream near to the St Mary and St John School in Meadow Lane in the Donnington area of the city.
Following DNA examination, the man has now been formally identified as Derek.
It comes after several appeals to help find the 63 year old, described by the college as a "much-loved" member of the team.
Superintendent Emma Garside of Thames Valley Police, said: “This is a tragic case and very sadly, we are now able to confirm that the man who was located in Oxford is Derek.
