Large amount of gold stolen as Landrover used to ram-raid jewellers

Report by ITV Meridian's Carolyn Sim

A large amount of gold has been stolen after thieves used what's believed to be a Landrover Discovery to ram-raid two jewellers in Aldershot, Hampshire.

Police were called to the Anugraha Jewellers store on Station Road at 03:20am on Friday 10 December.

A short time later, the sister store, New Laxmi Jewellers on Victoria Road was also targeted.

Officers say both shops contained gold jewellery and a significant amount has been stolen.

It is believed a silver Land Rover Discovery, which was abandoned on Victoria Road, was involved in both of the incidents.

A scene watch is currently in place outside both premises and officers have launched an investigation.

Hampshire Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward to assist with our enquiries.
