Arson attack on Kent animal charity leaves one goat dead and another with serious burns
A goat has died and another has been badly injured following an arson attack on an animal charity in Kent.
Twinkle and Belle suffered burnt feet and scorched hair after someone threw a large firework into their stable on 25 November, says Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats.
The goats received medical treatment by a vet, but sadly Twinkle died two days after the fire. Belle is apparently pulling through.
It was at around 11pm when one of the charity's foster families did a late night check of the security cameras and noticed smoke coming from the stables.
When they arrived the straw on the stable floor was 'a mass of flames and the room full of dense smoke.'
The sanctuary says both animals had inhaled heavy smoke and were suffering from severe shock but were not experiencing difficulty breathing.
The vet administered pain relief and anti-inflammatory injections.
Unable to save Twinkle, a fundraising mission is now underway to help pay for Belle's medical treatment which can be found here.
Upon inspection, the cameras revealed someone opening the stable door and throwing a large firework into the stable.Police have been informed and are investigating the incident.
Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats is based in the village of Boughton Monchelsea and rescues abandoned, abused and neglected goats.
