Alexandra Morgan: Trial date set for man accused of murdering missing mum last seen at forecourt
A trial date has been set for a man accused of the murder of a missing Kent mother-of-two.
Alexandra Morgan, 34, from Sissinghurst, was last seen at a petrol station two weeks ago.
Mark Brown, 40, from St Leonards-On-Sea, appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday, charged with her murder.
He did not enter any plea.
Ms Morgan was last seen at a petrol station near Cranbrook, Kent, at 7.20am on Sunday, November 14, and has not been in contact with her family since.
Her disappearance was described as completely out of character.
Detectives opened a murder investigation and are continuing their search for Ms Mogan.
Judge Christine Laing QC remanded Brown in custody until his next hearing, scheduled for February, when the murder charge is expected to be put to him.
A provisional trial date was set for May 9, 2022.
A 53-year-old man arrested in Sussex has been released without charge.
Ms Morgan was last seen wearing a green quilted knee-length coat, a black top and ripped blue jeans, knee-high black boots and a silver necklace.
She is described as around 5ft 6in, slim, with brown shoulder-length hair.
On Tuesday, police confirmed they had found Ms Morgan's white Mini Cooper following an image appeal.
Residents can expect to see a heightened police presence in the Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea areas as enquiries continue, a statement added.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: ‘While a man has been charged, the investigation continues and we remain keen to hear from anyone who may have information which can assist with our enquiries.’
