Shani Warren: Man in court charged over historical murder of woman found bound and gagged in lake
A 66-year-old man is due in court today after being charged over the murder of a woman found bound and gagged in a lake nearly four decades ago.
Donald Robertson, 66, is accused of the murder of Shani Warren, 26, whose body was discovered in water in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, in April 1987.
He is further charged with indecent assault and unlawful imprisonment involving the same woman.
Robertson is also charged with the kidnap and rape of a 16-year-old girl in nearby Slough in July 1981, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Robertson did not appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court in person on Friday due to a coronavirus outbreak at the prison where he is currently detained.
He was represented by a solicitor for the four-minute hearing.
No pleas were entered.
He was further remanded in custody and is due to appear at Reading Crown Court later on Monday.
