Man waited in alleyway before injuring woman in Gravesend robbery
CCTV shows Jaroslav Gabor robbing his victim
A robber who waited in an alleyway to steal a woman's handbag in Gravesend has been jailed.
Jaroslav Gabor cycled up to his victim off Gravesend High Street, while wearing a balaclava, before stealing her handbag.
The woman in her 60s, fell to the ground and suffered hip and leg injuries, during the incident in February.
Following the robbery, Gabor used one of the victim's bank cards in a nearby shop to buy alcohol and cigarettes.
Gabor was sentenced to three years and nine months, after he admitted robbery and fraud.
The incident was caught on CCTV and the description of the bike was circulated to local officers.
Gabor, aged 23, was arrested two days after the offence, still in possession of the victim's mobile phone. He was later charged and remanded in custody.
Investigating officer DC Emma Laimbeer from the Chief Constables Crime Squad said: "Gabor targeted a person he believed to be vulnerable and then violently stole her handbag, knocking the victim over in the process."
