'Loving husband and grandfather' killed in Winchester motorbike crash named

A "loving husband and grandfather" who died in a motorbike crash in Winchester has been named.

Jonathan Gates was killed following a collision with a car on Morestead Road on 9 October.

The 54-year-old's family said he died "doing what he loved to", riding his Ducati 749 motorcycle.

In a statement released by police, his family said he was a "loving husband, a father, stepfather and grandad to two beautiful girls."

“He will be forever loved and forever missed," they said.

Hampshire Police said that detectives are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

The force issued a renewed appeal for witnesses of those with dash cam footage to come forward, quoting reference number 44210405931.
