Man from Windsor who had kidneys weighing 35kg training to run a marathon

Earlier this year Warren Higgs, from Windsor, had kidneys which weighed a huge 35 kilograms. He is now training to run a marathon after a successful operation.
Warren had Polycystic Kidney Disease all his life but in recent years his condition had worsened considerably, as his kidneys enlarged.
Now, after the operation Warren has his sights set on doing something he never thought would be possible, running a marathon.

Warren had originally planned to run a 10k, but when his friends heard of his plans they encouraged him to go for a half marathon.
Warren said, being competitive as he is, it was too good an opportunity to miss.

Warren has surprised his trainers with how committed he is, his motivation making it very easy for them to help him reach his goals.
Kevin Wallace said that most people in Warren's position would "have probably have given up, but not him." Adding that "He has the motivation there to do this".
