Teen reportedly spiked by injection at Portsmouth nightclub
An 18-year-old woman was reportedly spiked by injection at a nightclub in Portsmouth and felt "tenderness and numbness to her arm," police have said.The incident was reported at 2.11am in the early hours of Friday morning, at Pryzm nightclub on Stanhope Road in the city centre.It follows a number of clubbers recently reporting spiking-via-injection across the country, but this is the first reported incident of this nature in the Portsmouth area.
Police are investigating to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
Detectives are investigating reports that two women were spiked by injection while on a night out in Brighton.
The incidents are reported to have taken place in the evening on Tuesday (October 19) and in the early hours of Wednesday morning (October 20).
Nearly 200 drink spiking incidents have been reported to police forces across the UK over the past two months, figures reveal.
The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) said there have been 198 confirmed reports of drink spiking in September and October, in addition to 24 reports of some form of injection.
