A rare snow leopard has been born at The Big Cat Sanctuary near Ashford in Kent.

CCTV cameras captured the moment when resident snow leopard, Laila, gave birth to a male cub.

The little cub will stay inside his den with Laila for around two months and take his first steps outside after being fully vaccinated.

It is thought there is no more than 6,000 snow leopards left in the wild therefore they are considered an endangered species.

Staff at the park will be holding a competition which will give everyone the chance to name the new addition.
