Thousands hit the streets for the ABP Southampton Marathon

The weather was kind to the runners today. Thousands set off this morning for the ABP Southampton Marathon.

The racecourse took in green parks, shoreline and riverside views, starting and ending at the Southampton Guildhall.

The marathon was a two lap course past Southampton Docks and passing through St Mary's Football Stadium.

A half marathon and 10K events were also on offer as well and the Race Village was buzzing with support and excitement.

The races were cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic - and postponed again in April because of continued restrictions. But they were out in full force today - joined by an enthusiastic crowd to cheer them on.
