Two rescued from Poole Harbour after 'small aircraft crash' at Bournemouth Air Festival
Two people have been rescued from Poole Harbour after an aircraft crashed during the Bournemouth Air Festival.
Flying was suspended for the evening at the Bournemouth Air Festival after the incident at around 3:50pm on Saturday (4 Sept).
The two people on board the aircraft, reported by eyewitnesses as a wingwalker biplane, sustained minor injuries, Dorset Police said.
The Bournemouth Air Festival Organisers said: "The crew are safe and sound and are being looked after by the emergency services.
"Flying has been suspended for this evening.
"It is our intention to have a display programme reinstated for tomorrow."
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said it was "assisting" with the incident in the Sandbanks area of Poole Harbour.
A cordon was in place and people are being asked to avoid the area.
