New cycle route section linking Waddesdon and Aylesbury is officially opened
Report by ITV News Meridian's Juliette Fletcher
A new section of cycleway, an extension to the Waddesdon Greenway, was officially opened in Aylesbury on Tuesday.
Supporters took to their bikes and scooters to be among the first over the bridge.
It is not just for cyclists, the Haydon Hill extension opens up the countryside for walkers and runners too.
Cyclist Richard Wells tells us what a difference the new route will make.
The 650 metre section of the cycleway cost around £400,000 and was funded by central Government.
It means people can travel from Aylesbury to Waddesdon without getting in a car and it is part of a bigger plan too.

In support of sustainable travel there's an electric bike scheme in operation with docking stations at Aylesbury Vale Parkway Station and at Waddesdon Manor.
The bikes can be used for commuting or exploring the local area.
The new route will provide a vital link for local people. It is an easy way to enjoy the outdoors and to help cut down traffic on the surrounding roads.
