Large field fire in Oxfordshire believed to be arson

A fire which destroyed 200 tonnes of straw in Oxfordshire is believed to have been started deliberately, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have said.

Crews were called to the large field fire in Shiplake, on the Henley Road, on Wednesday night.

Firefighters worked through the night to prevent the blaze spreading to surrounding properties.

The landowner is working with Thames Valley Police and is checking CCTV footage in the area.
