Baby deer rescued from sea by family on fishing trip
WATCH: Family catches deer with makeshift lasso
A family in Dorset who were out on their first ever fishing trip just off of Weymouth harbour, intending to use their rods to catch some mackerel.
What they didn't expect to be doing, was using a lasso to catch a shivering baby deer that had got into a spot of bother in the water.
Dad, Morgan Lloyd, says they spotted a some ears bobbing around in the water and after a number of attempts, managed to bring the fawn on board then back to the shore for release.

Morgan says: "We saw something in the water and when we went over we could see it was a baby deer swimming in the water. We were a bit surprised to see it".
"We pretty much all made a joint decision to rescue it, to try and do what we could. We made a lasso to try and catch it and we got it on the third attempt".
"We brought it aboard and obviously with the three kids on board we had to make sure it was safe, tied the deer up so the kids were safe and the deer was safe - it didn't hurt itself".
"Then we took it to some woodland nearby and untied it and let it go. We let it calm down and when it stood there and we could see it settling in we all walked off and left it to its own devices".
