Fire crews are dealing with a thatched roof fire in West Sussex.

Firefighters from Chichester, Littlehampton, Shoreham and Worthing were called to Sea Lane in Middleton on Sea near Bognor Regis on Tuesday afternoon (10 August).

People are being urged to avoid the area and residents told to keep doors and windows closed.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service have sent an incident command unit to the scene and are using jets, hose reels, hydrants and a compressed air foam system to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
