Red Arrows take to the sky as thousands attend Folkestone Airshow

Thousands of spectators headed to the Kent coast this weekend for a glimpse of airborne action as the Folkestone Airshow got underway.
It was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, and this year a wet weather forecast almost cancelled it again.
However the show went on, which included a rare appearance from the Red Arrows, even if the weather did nearly spoil the RAF display team's performance for those watching below.

Having survived the Luftwaffe, the Dakota battled strong winds to be the only plane in the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Cllr David Monk (Con), Leader of Folkestone & Hythe District Council said: "After nearly 18 months of doom and gloom, what better way to celebrate the year with the lifting of restrictions."
