Team GB's Amber Hill sets sights on next Olympics after missing out on Tokyo 2020
An athlete from Berkshire says she's already set her sights on the Paris Olympics, having missed out on Tokyo 2020 in heartbreaking fashion.
Amber Hill from Crowthorne tested positive for Covid-19 the night before she was due to fly out to the games.
Ms Hill was 18 years old when she qualified as a finalist at the Rio Olympics before winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games two years later.
Ranked world number one in her sport, she was an important part of Team GB's kitting out day last month.
Ms Hill says her family, her friends and her dogs, Wolf and Biggles, have helped her cope with missing the Olympics.
Amber said: "It's definitely been up and down I can't lie about it, there's been some days where all I want to do is cry and then I'll pick myself up and really want to be part of the games. I've tried not to feel too sorry for myself because I really have done everything I could possibly do to get to myself to the games in the best form possible."
As a proud Olympian, Amber has been wearing the Team GB kit, while watching her teammates.
Ms Hill says she now "needs some time off" to focus on herself mentally and "do the normal things that 23-year-olds do".
