Pensioner left frightened after being attacked and robbed in his own home
Report by ITV News Meridian's Sarah Saunders
A pensioner has spoken of his horror after two thieves attacked and robbed him after forcing their way into his home.
Police were called to Park Road in Ramsgate following the break-in on the evening of July 30.
CCTV footage shows two hooded men entering the property where they attacked Edwin Cross, before robbing him and escaping through the garden.
Mr Cross, 76, was thrown to the floor and kicked but thankfully not seriously injured.
This is the second time Mr Cross has been targeted. The first time, just a few months ago, the robbers stole his life savings. He fears this time it was the same people.
Elizabeth Clifton, Mr Cross' daughter, said: "It's more a rage because they couldn't get what they wanted, so there is unnecessary damage.
"He is a shell of himself and even at my house I can hear him jumping, crying out in his sleep and it's just sad, because that's not who he is.
"He rang me at 9pm and just sobbed down the phone. He was just sat on the stairs covered in his own blood, crying.
"I understand crime happens but a nearly 77 year old man who just stays on the floor saying please don't hurt me."
Officers are carrying our door-to-door enquiries in the area and are reviewing CCTV and dashcam footage.
