A man in his 60s from Surrey has died after an accident at a racing circuit in Kent.

Police said they were called at around 2.55pm on Saturday 31 July 2021 to a report of a collision involving a car and two people on foot at Brands Hatch.

The man died at the scene, and the second person on foot and the driver of the car, were also taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) confirmed the man was a volunteer marshal at the race meeting.

The BARC said the rest of Saturday's racing activity was cancelled and it is now working with the national governing body, Motorsport UK, and Kent Police. A full investigation will be held.

A fundraising page has been set up for the family of the victim and those affected.

More than £12,000 has been raised for his family so far.

Motorsport UK is among organisations posting messages of condolence.
