Singer Will Young lends support to new soup kitchen in Newbury
This report by Mike Pearse
Singer Will Young was in Newbury to support the launch of a new soup kitchen in the town. It provides not only food but practical support to the homeless.
The voluntary organisation behind it provide help, support and a meal to the homeless.
Will, who grew up in nearby Hungerford, said the project was vital to the wellbeing and mental health of the people they help.
Newbury soup kitchen was started by Meryl Praill, who herself has suffered financial hardship and wanted to help others.
It's also twenty years ago that Will had his first audition for Pop Idle. His latest album is out next week.
And his celebrity endorsement of the soup kitchen couldn’t have been more welcome.
