A deaf 11-year-old from Lancing in West Sussex has had his plea for clear face masks answered.

Austin Goddard contacted ITV News Meridian to highlight how impossible it is to lip read when people are wearing normal masks.

After appearing on our programme, another viewer from Poole in Dorset got in touch with us offering her help.

Ann Bebb offered to make clear masks for Austin as she had already made them for her sister, who is a sign language interpreter.

Ann is already working on her next batch of clear masks as the call goes out to help more deaf people struggling with the increased use of PPE.
