Reading community comes together in solidarity over terror attack

At 10 o'clock this morning (22/06), a two minute's silence was held in Reading town centre and multi-faith groups laid flowers.

The Home Secretary, Priti Patel also visited the scene and said lessons must be learned.

A show of solidarity, as the community in Reading and beyond, came together to remember those who perished in Saturday's terrorist attack.

It was Saturday evening when Forbury Gardens- normally a sanctuary for relaxation- suddenly turned into a spree of violence that led to three people losing their lives.

Khairi Saadallah was arrested in connection with the crime, and remains in police custody, under terrorism laws.

Nearby flats were also raided by police as they gathered more evidence.

The roads around the scene of the attack were still sealed off as forensic teams continued to comb the area. Meanwhile, feelings in the town are still running high.

As the day wore on, ordinary citizens of all ages, continued to express their sadness and outrage, over a senseless and savage crime.
