Three in hospital after explosion at oilseed plant near Dartford

Three people have been taken to hospital after an explosion at an industrial estate in Erith near Dartford.

Around 40 firefighters were sent to the oilseed processing plant on Church Manorway at around 10am on Friday after a fire broke out.

The force of the explosion rocked surrounding buildings prompting 21 people to call the London Fire Brigade.

The fire is now under control but crews will remain at the scene for some time.

Smoke can be seen across much of Kent and south-east London.
