Man arrested on suspicion of murdering teenager Louise Smith

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering 16-year-old Louise Smith in Hampshire.

The teenager's body was found in Havant Thicket on Thursday 21st May.

A 29-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both the man and woman, from Havant, were previously arrested on suspicion of kidnap on the 14th May and were released on bail.

Extensive fingertip searches are underway at Havant Thicket as police continue to investigate her murder.

Police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries in Leigh Park, as they try to piece together the teenager's final movements.

Louise was last seen at around midday on Friday 8th May, which was VE Day, in Somborne Drive.

Hampshire Police is urging anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant they believe it may be, to get in touch.

Detectives are urging the public to cast their minds back to the afternoon of VE Day, and check any mobile phone footage they may have.
