Police searching for missing 16-year-old Louise Smith have found a body

Officers searching for missing 16-year-old Louise have today (Thursday 21 May) located a body in the Havant area.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Louise’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Hampshire Police are treating the death as suspicious, and are continuing to investigate the circumstances.

It's been two weeks since Louise Smith went missing.

Hampshire Police say they're working around the clock to try to establish what has happened. They're asking members of the public not to speculate, but to contact them if they have any information.

Louise had visited a supermarket on the evening of May the seventh- the Tesco store, close to her home in the Leigh Park area.

The next day she was seen for the last time in Somborne Road. Today, investigators coming in and out of a property there.

Friends say she was then heading to Emsworth Skate Park. Her mobile phone was traced there at two o'clock that afternoon, but she hasn't been seen since.

The Police say her family have been told about the discovery of a body - and are being supported by specialist officers.

The Police haven't been able to trace Louise's mobile phone since the signal was detected here, two weeks ago today. They believe the public may be able to help with her whereabouts since then.
