Emergency NHS village built at Reading School
An emergency NHS village to support hospital staff has been set up in Berkshire.
The accommodation, which has been built at Reading School, is to be used by medical staff from The Royal Berkshire Hospital.
The pop up village has 40 container units, which each have en-suite facilities.
The CEO of Royal Berkshire Hospital, Steve McManus, said a temporary supermarket for staff will be built next.
He thanked the team involved in setting up the units and also Reading School for "their ongoing support and use of their grounds".
Reading School has been located next to the Royal Berkshire Hospital since 1870.
In a statement, the school said: "Now is undoubtedly the time to put our core value of community in to action, like never before."
