Bus roof torn off after passing under bridge in Andover

The roof of a double-decker bus has been torn off after passing under a bridge in Andover in Hampshire.

Onlookers stood in shock as the bus hit the bridge at around 9.45am on Tuesday along Charlton Road in the direction of Charlton Village.

The mangled top deck of the double-decker was left open to the elements as it block the road.

There were no passengers on board the bus at the time, as it was not in service. Luckily, no-one has been injured.

The road was blocked for some time as work got underway to clear up the debris strewn across the road.
