RIBA Awards 2019: The Beecroft Building
WATCH: Stacey Poole's full feature on the Beecroft Building
This is the fourth and final part of our series which looks inside some of the most experimental and creative building projects in the Meridian region.
The Beecroft Building at the University of Oxford is the most advanced physics facility in Europe.
The £50 million project was named as one this year's RIBA award winners.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) prize is given to buildings that go beyond architecture and offer something unique.
The four buildings featured in our pieces are among several showcased in the RIBA Regional Awards 2019.
The building is constructed over eight floors, four of which are underground.
The basement sections are designed to minimise vibrations and temperature change to help with the sub atomic experiments that are carried out on the site.
