Zoo keepers at an animal park in East Sussex say they've been 'inundated with donations' of bamboo from members of the public after making an urgent appeal for more supplies last week.

Drusillas Park near Alfriston launched an appeal for donations after their hungry red pandas, Maja and Mulan, chomped their way through 2kg a day of bamboo.

The zoo said keeping the red pandas satisfied with enough roots and shoots is an ongoing battle and they have an 'insatiable' appetite.

Donations were sent to the park from all over the country.
