A yellow weather warning is in place for Friday and Saturday for strong winds across the South East.

Gusts are expected to reach between 50mph-60mph, with gales along the south coast and inland.

As a result, a number of public events across the region have been cancelled due to the adverse weather. However some are still going ahead.

Check the lists below to see what we know is cancelled and what is still on so far (some are only cancelled on certain days so click the links to see what days are affected).

Network Rail is advising passengers this weekend to check before travelling in case the weather is affecting services.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is also warning people to take extra care around coastlines as severe weather is expected to hit the region. The charity says swimming, bodyboarding, and surfing will not be safe in the conditions.

Saturday:Very windy everywhere on Saturday with gales, especially on coasts. Mainly cloudy, perhaps with some brighter interludes. Scattered, locally heavy showers will develop, but many parts may stay dry. Maximum temperature 23 deg C (73 deg F).

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:After a dry but very windy morning on Sunday the odd shower is likely. Monday seeing sunshine and heavy showers, these easing later. Fine start to Tuesday before showers develop.
