Specialist diabetes nurse gets personal 'Thank you' from PM

A specialist diabetes nurse from Kent, who set up a online forum for medical professionals who treat the disease, has been rewarded with an invitation to Downing Street.

Amanda Epps, from the Medway Maritime hospital in Gillingham, attended the special reception alongside fellow nurses - all invited for their contribution to diabetes care. The event was hosted by the prime minister, who is one of the more than four and a half million people in the UK living with diabetes.
